What Ammo Tracker is
Ammo Tracker is a personal inventory tool that helps you record and organize ammunition you own, along with optional details about the firearms you use it with. This policy explains what information the app collects when you use it, how that information is handled, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider, Clerk, collects your email address, name, and the credentials needed to sign you in securely.
Inventory data you enter. Ammo Tracker only knows what you tell it. That includes ammo types and categories, lot details such as brand, ammo code, grain or shell length and shot size, the month you bought a lot, an optional cost basis, quantity on hand, and notes, and logbook entries recording when rounds are used, bought, rotated, or adjusted.
Optional firearm details. If you choose to track firearms, the form asks for a name, an optional caliber, a starting round count, and tags. Ammo Tracker also keeps the lifetime round counts it calculates from your logbook, any maintenance reminders and maintenance history you record, and which of your ammo lots you have loaded into magazines for a firearm. Every firearm field beyond the name is optional, and Ammo Tracker does not collect firearm serial numbers — there is no serial number field, and document or photo upload is not available.
How we use your information
We use the information described above for one purpose: to run the app and show your inventory back to you. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your information for advertising. Ammo Tracker does not include any third-party advertising networks or analytics trackers.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate Ammo Tracker, and your information passes through them only as needed to deliver the service:
- Clerk handles authentication and account credentials.
- Convex stores your inventory data and logbook entries in its cloud database.
- Vercel hosts the application.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is kept for as long as your account is active so the app can function. Ammo Tracker does not include a data export feature, and there is no in-app, self-service account deletion button.
Full deletion of your account is available on request through the contact channel described below. We process deletion requests promptly, using an internal procedure that verifies the request came from the account holder and then deletes your account data from our Convex database and file storage along with your Clerk account. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone, and because there is no export feature, we cannot provide a copy of your data beforehand.
Your choices
You control what you enter into Ammo Tracker. Firearm details are entirely optional — you can track ammunition without ever adding firearm information, and you can leave any optional firearm field blank.
Security
We rely on industry-standard infrastructure providers for authentication and data storage, and data is encrypted in transit between your device and our services. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Ammo Tracker is not directed to, and should not be used by, anyone under 18 years old.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
